I am a wife, mother, wedding photographer, traveler, dreamer, comedian (even if I’m the only one who thinks I’m funny), incessant movie/ tv show quoter, cat lover, big earring wearer and Dr. Pepper addict.
I believe that every love story is beautiful and I want to tell those stories the best that I can with my camera. My aim on a wedding day is to guide and offer direction when necessary and observe always so that your wedding story is truly your story. I want you to be fully present, enjoy your spouse, your celebration and your company.
My love of art and all things celebratory started young, and after earning my BA in Fine Arts Photography from Milligan College in 2008 (Go Buffaloes!), I finally found the perfect culmination of these two passions in wedding and engagement photography. I’ll admit, frequent access to wedding cake helped in the decision. π Seriously though, over the past 7 years, over 150 couples have invited me in to their lives to document their love stories and wedding days, and I feel honored by each one of them. I care about my clients, their lives, and their stories, not just on the wedding day, but leading up to and following it.
I believe wholeheartedly that we are all better together and that just like the adage “it takes a village to raise a child” it also takes a village to raise a husband and a wife. My husband, Matt, and I have been married for 7 years and while we are by no means experts at marriage, we have had some wonderful couples alongside us to offer encouragement and advice in this wonderful, yet stress inducing relationship that is marriage. I believe that two of the most powerful words in the world are “me too.” I never cease to be amazed at the support and kindness that people show when you are open with them, about the good, the bad, the questions, the struggles, even the seemingly mundane. We are all in this together and I want every couple to have this kind of support, whether through friends, family, or even your friendly neighborhood wedding photographer. π I’m not just here to photograph your day. I’m rooting for you both and want you to have the best, strongest, most fun marriage possible. If there is any way that I can help or be your “me too”, don’t hesitate to ask.
